Rewind
technique
The Rewind Technique is a remarkably effective method of treating
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic attacks and phobias.
A great benefit of the technique is that the practitioner does not
need to know detail about the incidents, alleviating the discomfort
often involved in the re-telling.
The Rewind Technique was originally created by the originators
of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) who called it the Visual-Kinesthetic
Dissociation Technique (V/K Dissociation). Joseph Griffin and Ivan
Tyrrell of the Human Givens Institute refined and renamed the process
the Rewind Technique.
The vast majority of sufferers experience a significant (over
70%) reduction in their symptoms after approximately one to three
short sessions. The process itself is comfortable, and does not
involve 're-living' of the unpleasant events.
